Too long since I last wrote!

Well - what have I been up to?  First important thing is that I met up with 4 other frantic beaders from Austria, in Salzburg.  We had a lovely evening together, hosted by Claudia who, apart from making a really nice supper, had many pretty things ready for Christmas - baubles, stars, angels.....

Anett was wearing a very eye-catching necklace that she'd made earlier in the day -  a type of crotcheted spiral with facets that I am in awe of and can't do.

Birgit had an absolutely stunning necklace and bracelet that she's entering for a competition at Glasperlen.at.  My piece (a bracelet) for the same comp. is nothing beside it!  I'm currently busily making my version of the same necklace in golds and will post a picture when it's finished - but it is taking a while.

Nelly arrived a bit late because of work, but brought with her several pieces - she uses really interesting colour combinations which work very well together in chunky modern pieces.

What I most enjoy about meeting these women is that we all have different ideas and styles and there is always a good tip or two to pick up.  For example, I showed them how to work  celini spiral (Peyote spiral) this time and learnt how Birgit had done her necklace.

Was habe ich gemacht in die letzte ein Paar Woche?  Erste wichtige Dinge ist dass, ich mit 4 andere suchtige Perlenfrauen in Salzburg zusammen getroffen habe.  Wir haben eine scöne Abend bei Claudia gehabt - sie hat wunderschöne Essen gemacht und auch macht viele besondere Sachen für Weinachten - Sterne, Engeln, Kügeln.......

Anett trägte ein sehr hubsche Kette, dass sie am gleichen Tag hergestellt hatte - ein gehäkelte Spirale mit Schliffperlen, auf der ich ganz beeindruckt bin und könnte nicht schaffen:

Birgit hatte eine betäubende Kette und Armband gemacht, die sie in ein Wettbewerb mit Glasperlen.at angemeldet hat.  Meine Stück (ein Armband) ist nichts nebenan ihre Stück!  Momentan bin ich beschäftigt eine ähnliche mit goldene Farben zumachen - ich werde ein Bild uploaden, wenn es fertig ist - aber es dauert!

Nelly kam ein bißchen spät gegen der Arbeit aber hat dabei einige Stücke - sie benutzt sehr interessante Farbecombinationen, die zusammen sehr gut mit großartige moderne Stücke passen.

Was freut mich sehr, diese Frauen zu treffen, ist dass, wir alle verscheidene Styl und Ideen haben und es gibt immer ein Paar gute Tips zu lernen.  z.B ich habe ihren eine Celini Spirale demonstrierte und habe Birgits Kette gelernt.

Tann Craft Fair

Very busy yesterday - the weather wasn't great - and at one point it rained unbelievably hard, bringing down one person's stand, but it didn't stop a huge amount of people visiting the fair and, fortunately, spending money. 

I sold predominantly necklaces, but I also found myself making simple 'bespoke' earrings and people always seem pleased to choose their own beads and see the process!  I also had one customer, who had bought a necklace from me two years ago and wants me to make a bracelet to go with it.  It's very satisfying to know that it is still going strong.

What I really need to do now is properly update my website.  I must get some of the newer items on there and put in some dates etc. for the courses.

Es war einen sehr beschäftigten Tag gestern.  Das Wetter war nicht sehr Toll und als es sehr stark geregnet für 30 Minuten hat, war ein Stand Weg.  Aber viele Leute waren dabei und, glücklicherweise mit Geld auszugeben.

Der meistens habe ich Ketten verkauft aber ich habe auch einfache Ohrringe nach Wunsch hergestellt.  Leute scheint immer zufrieden, ihre Perlen zu wahlen und anzuschauen was passiert!  Ich habe auch eine Kundin, die vor zwei Jahre eine Kette gekauft hat und sie will jetzt ein passende Armband.  Ich bin ganz zufrieden, dass die Kette noch immer gut geht.

Was ich dringend tun muss, ist meine Website in Ordnung zu bringen.  Ich muss die neue Sachen da uploaden und auch Informationen über Kurse usw.

I'm currently preparing for a craft fair in a small town near here called Tann.  We've had a lovely week, weather-wise, but last night it turned nasty, with a terrific storm!

I just hope that Sunday is pleasant.  I've been at the Tann fair for the last two years and it is thoroughly enjoyable.  The market square is taken over by hand-made crafts - pottery, a blacksmith, jewellery of course, felting, knitting, and so on - and a stage is erected at one end where live bands play throughout the day.  There is also a large area to sit and eat or have a beer and watch the entertainment.  It's always very friendly.

I have decided to also write this Blog in German, since I am living here and hope some of my German friends will be interested.  However, my German isn't great - so apologies to everyone!

Ich habe entschieden dieses Blog auch auf Deutsch zu schreiben, weill ich hier bin und ich hoffe, dass meine Freunden interessiert sind.  
Aber, bitte mich entschuldigen - meine Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut!
Ich vorbereite momentan für die Kunstmarkt in Tann, die in der nähe ist.  Wir hatten sehr schönes Wetter dieses Woche, aber letzte Nacht war furchtbar, mit sehr viel Regen und Donner.

Ich hoffe sehr, dass Sonntag wieder angenehm ist.  Ich war beim Tann Kunstmarkt seit zwei Jahren und er freut mich sehr gern.  Der Markt ist voll mit handarbeiteten Sachen - Töpfen, ein Schmied, Schmuck natürlich, Filz, Stricken usw. - und eine Bühne steht am Ende des Markts für Bands, die durch der ganzen Tag spielen.  Es gibt auch eine große Platz zum Essen  gehen oder eine Bier genießen, oder nur zum sitzen und sehen die Unterhaltung.  Es ist immer sehr freundlich.

First Day Blogging!

Well, here I am.  I have decided to start a blog to help link me to the world outside Lower Bavaria!

As my 'about me' section says, I've been making jewellery for a while now, using ancient and modern techniques. And I hope that people out there who are interested in beads and beading will take a look to see what I'm up to and let me know what you think and/or what you do.

My latest little buzz is using silver-plated or metallic enamelled wire to crochet jewellery - sounds odd but the results are really lovely......they are so recent, they haven't even made it to my website, yet!

I'm especially pleased with these, which I've created since the last craft fair I did because I have another craft fair locally at the weekend, and so some of my customers will be looking for something new.
